Former Chicago PD Deputy Chief Randall L. Darlin Named as Evans Chief of Police Effective Immediately

Former Deputy Chief of the Chicago Police Department Randall L. Darlin has been named as the City of Evans’ new Chief of Police following a months-long search after the retirement of former chief Rick Brandt on March 1. Darlin has 31 years of law enforcement experience, including 27 years in Chicago and the last four years working for the Northglenn Police Department. His most recent position was Deputy Police Chief of the Northglenn PD.

“I am deeply excited for Chief Darlin to begin his tenure with the Evans Police Department,” said Evans City Manager Cody R. Sims. “During the recruitment period, we received interest from 34 candidates from across the United States, many of whom had very impressive qualifications and experience. I believe Chief Darlin’s leadership will be transformational for the Evans Police Department and will push us all to be better public servants.”

Darlin earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a Juris Doctor degree with Cum Laude honors from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law. He is a licensed attorney in Illinois and a graduate of the Senior Management Institute for Police…
