The latest Storm Tracker Forecast from meteorologists Matt Mackie and Kevin Appleby:
While there are a few areas of fog and cloudiness this morning, high pressure will bring us mostly sunny conditions by the end of the morning.
With the brighter skies, temperatures will surge into the low 90’s this afternoon. While a couple isolated showers, downpours, or rumbles of thunder are possible after midday, the vast majority will stay dry.
The humidity will be the bigger concern – heat index values or “feels like” temperatures will range from 95 to 100 in most valley locations. As a result, a Heat Advisory is in effect for the highlighted areas below where the risk for heat related illness is greatest.
Tomorrow is slightly more humid, but temperatures are kept in the 80’s by more clouds and scattered showers and afternoon storms. One or two could be strong with heavy rain and gusty winds being the main threat.
Beautiful conditions are expected for Friday and Saturday, with highs in the low 80’s and less humidity. A bit muggy again for Sunday, with a few afternoon thunderstorms possible.
Then we clear out once more for Monday and Tuesday, with seasonable warmth and lower humidity…
