NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) — A North Charleston police officer has been placed on administrative leave after video of a juvenile being handcuffed at a gas station surfaced online Tuesday night.
The North Charleston Police Department confirmed on Wednesday that it was aware of the incident that occurred at the Circle K on Rivers Avenue and Otranto Road the previous evening.
In a 5-minute video posted to social media, the juvenile can be heard yelling “Get off of me” and “I’m not doing nothing wrong,” as the officer holds him down on the ground. The officer tells the juvenile to “stop” multiple times, and the juvenile says at one point that he is “scared for my life.”…
