Coral Springs Handyman Arrested in $60,000 Jewelry and Luxury Goods Heist

A man hired as a handyman was arrested and charged with multiple counts of grand theft after allegedly stealing over $60,000 worth of jewelry and valuables from a Coral Springs homeowner he worked for.

According to a Coral Springs Police Department arrest report, Scott Haven Barron, 45, of Sunrise, was taken into custody on July 10 following an investigation into a reported high-value theft.

According to the probable cause affidavit, the victim contacted police on June 30 to report that a large quantity of personal items – including fine jewelry, silverware, binoculars, and a limited-edition Cartier watch – were missing from her home.

The victim also informed the police that, in retrospect, they believed the thefts took place on June 18, when the home’s Wi-Fi was turned off for an hour, disabling the security recordings. Barron, who had been performing handyman services at the victim’s residence, allegedly had full, unsupervised access to the home, including knowledge of the Wi-Fi password and the setup of the surveillance system…
