The master plan for a 121-acre retirement community in Meridian is getting a facelift after 20-plus years.
The Touchmark subdivision near Franklin Rd. and Eagle Rd. in Meridian opened its first phase of retirement homes in 2003. According to permit documents filed with the City of Meridian, the development was planned to eventually comprise 874 retirement homes, approximately 20 acres of medical offices, and an unspecified amount of commercial space.
Currently, 62.8 acres of the community have been developed into 428 retirement homes, as well as amenities like a community senior health and fitness center, walking trails, a community garden, a coffee shop and bistro, a salon and barbershop, a library, a theatre, dining venues, and pickleball courts.
