Buffalo, NY (WBEN) The man who founded the Made in America store has died. Mark Andol created the store selling products only made in the US in 2010, after losing contracts to China.
Andol was the owner of the General Welding & Fabricating, and was inspired to create a store that sold only products made in America after the loss of a major contract to a competitor in China, forcing the closure of two of his four plants and the furlough of one-half of his workforce.
Andol told WBEN the criteria for having a product sold at his store was to have every element made in the US, “right down to the packaging.” His mission was to create and save American jobs by increasing manufacturing in the U.S.A. “Mark was a passionate advocate for American manufacturing, a dedicated community leader, and a tireless supporter of working families.
