For the past six years, I’ve been photographing an old house tucked away on a quiet road near Apex, North Carolina. Each time I visited, I found myself hoping that someone would come along with enough vision, and enough love for old places, to save it and now, it’s for sale!

I first saw it listed recently on the MLS, and knowing the risk that comes with properties like this, I went back for another visit to get some more documentation of it. During my visit that day, two separate cars pulled up, both prospective buyers coming to look at the parcel. I introduced myself, and each person told me the same thing: they were interested in the land, but they would likely tear down the house because it’s ‘so far gone.’ It’s a story I’ve heard too many times.
