STUART, Fla. (CBS12) — A restaurant owner chased after a thief who was accused of slipping behind the business’s counter and stealing the cash that was tucked inside the register on Wednesday morning.
After stealing the cash, the suspect fled on foot but was caught on camera by a bystander. The footage the bystander captured showed him running southbound on SE Federal Highway as the owner of China Star Restaurant followed behind.
Officers and deputies from the Martin County Sheriff’s Office immediately began searching the area upon their arrival. It was moments later that the suspect, identified as Donald Cahill, was apprehended near SE Federal Highway…
