LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – A man is in custody after beating a woman, stealing a motorcycle and trying to tear down a door at a Lincoln business, police say.
Officers arrested 34-year-old Christopher Shaw on Tuesday. Prosecutors then charged him with eight felony counts, ranging from strangulation, theft, resisting arrest and possession of a controlled substance.
On July 7 around 3 p.m., police were called to the O’Reilly Auto Parts at 48th and Orchard streets. A man was trying to tear down a bathroom door to get at a woman who’d run in before him. According to an arrest affidavit, Shaw had punched the woman outside the business and chased her inside.
A clerk witnessed her burst through the door with blood on her face and took her to the bathroom to separate her from Shaw. Police then arrived, and Shaw made a run for his motorcycle outside, officers wrote. An officer parked his cruiser in front of Shaw, so Shaw made a run for it…
