CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — A Chattanooga family who was displaced after their duplex caught on fire earlier this week say they just moved in two weeks ago.
The Chattanooga Fire Department arrived to the 3500 block of Dodson Avenue around 9:30 Monday morning, where they found a fire in the attic.
The home was ruled inhabitable due to all the damage from the flames, and the American Red Cross is helping families on both sides of the duplex.
The Crawford Allen family says they had just moved in two weeks ago, and now the majority of their things are ruined due to smoke and water damage.
We were living in Cleveland since 2019 and we ended up losing our house up there due to, you know, financial, you know, unfortunate events, and we ended up down here, and then we had good people around us.
