MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — The 8th Annual Community Outreach and Back-to-School Bash, which was originally scheduled for Saturday, July 19, is now set for July 26 due to expected rainy weather.

The event will be from 12-4 p.m. at 2523 Saint Stephens Road and will include free school supplies for kids and school uniform vouchers to help parents with the cost of school uniforms.
The Reverend David Edwards from People United to Advance the Dream and Jakira Spencer from Kupkakes Custom Creations joined us on the red couch to talk about the event.
Edwards said the event is not just about the students, but the parents as well. That is why in addition to activities and resources for the children, the event will also offer job resources, health screening resources and information about conflict resolution classes, parenting classes, drug education and more.
