Jackson is 7th worst city for renters in US: report

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – A recent report revealed that the capital city may be among the worst places for renters.

Federal Reserve data revealed that Mississippi has the second-highest homeownership rate nationally. Still, homeownership is not a reality available or desired by all Mississippians. For those who rent in the capital city, a myriad of factors led WalletHub to rank Jackson as the seventh worst place to do so out of 182 major cities nationally.

More than one in four Jacksonians lives in poverty. This likely contributes to the area being the 11th least affordable nationally for its residents.
