Arkansas National Guard assist in the sky and on the ground with Texas flood recovery

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Among the thousands of volunteers in Texas helping out with search and recovery following devastating floods is the Arkansas National Guard.

Officials said that the 22 active-duty National Guardsmen and four UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters that departed on July 8 were originally expected to return on Saturday but have now been extended to an additional week to assist in Texas with the transportation of search and rescue personnel.
