North Charleston traffic stop leads to man’s arrest on drug, gun charges

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – The North Charleston Police Department said a man is facing drug and gun charges for allegedly owning a gun while already having a prior felony drug conviction.

Daniel Rayekon Jones, 30, of Charleston County, is charged with felony possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of a firearm or ammunition by a convicted felon.

Police pulled Jones over for a window tint violation Wednesday afternoon. During the traffic stop, one officer detected the smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle.
