Local man charged with causing OD death of woman who was just released from rehab

CINCINNATI (WKRC) — For the second time in 2025, Hamilton County Prosecutor Connie Pillich has announced charges against an accused drug dealer in connection with an overdose death.

Malik Mabrey has been indicted on charges of involuntary manslaughter and corrupting another with drugs following the 2023 overdose death of Sierra Curley, a 26-year-old Sycamore Township woman.

According to Pillich, Mabrey allegedly instructed Curley – a Walnut Hills High School graduate – on how to take a bus to meet him at a gas station the day Curley was released from drug rehab. He then sold her the fentanyl that caused her deadly overdose the following day, Pillich said…
