PENSACOLA, Fla. (WKRG) — A prison sentence for a Pensacola man accused of trafficking drugs was upheld in the Court of Appeals on July 15, according to the Department of Justice.

According to a DOJ news release, a search warrant was executed at a Pensacola hotel in July 2021, leading to the discovery of 43-year-old Charles Edward Rowe in possession of over two kilograms of pills containing methamphetamine, crystal methamphetamine, cocaine, cocaine base, marijuana, a loaded Smith & Wesson 9mm pistol and a loaded Hi-Point .40 caliber pistol.
Initially, Rowe pleaded guilty to charges of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, cocaine, and marijuana; possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime; and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, according to the release.
Officials said a district court judge determined Rowe qualified to be sentenced as a “career offender,” due to prior convictions for violent and drug-related crimes. He was sentenced to 30 years in prison. However, he appealed this sentence…
