Former probationary Providence officer released in drug case

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — A former probationary Providence police officer was released to home confinement Wednesday following her arrest in a narcotics investigation.

Destiny Viera, 25, was taken into custody in late June and charged with several drug offenses, including manufacturing, delivering, or possession with intent to deliver fentanyl and cocaine.
