Tigard man who shot and injured US Postal worker in 2022 given 17 years in prison

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A Tigard man who shot and injured a U.S. Postal Service worker in 2022 was sentenced to 17 years in prison, the U.S. Department of Justice said.

Kevin Eugene Irvine, 34, was given the sentence after he was convicted earlier this year by a federal grand jury on multiple charges, including aggravated assault and attempted murder of a federal worker.

Irvine originally claimed the insanity defense but a judge found he failed to establish legal insanity and was found guilty of all three charges.
