Foxborough Fun Turns into a “Yellow” Buzz: Did Coldplay’s Chris Martin Expose an Office Affair?
A sweet moment turned awkward at a recent Coldplay concert in Foxborough, Massachusetts, when frontman Chris Martin’s playful ribbing of a couple on the Kiss Cam sparked online speculation of an office affair.
During an impromptu serenade, Martin’s attention landed on a man and woman looking cozy in the crowd. As the Jumbotron zoomed in, the woman quickly turned away, prompting Martin to quip, “Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy.” The audience erupted in laughter, but the incident quickly took a serious turn online.
Internet sleuths identified the pair as Andy Byron, CEO of tech firm Astronomer, and Kristin Cabot, the company’s Chief People Officer. While the two have appeared together in professional settings, their relationship has always seemed strictly business.
Byron and Cabot have yet to comment publicly, and their representatives have not responded to requests for confirmation.
The incident has ignited a firestorm of comments on social media, particularly on Byron’s LinkedIn page, with many referencing Coldplay lyrics. One user quipped, “Coldplay setlist update: A Sky Full of Stars, Fix You, The CEO of Astronomer getting caught cheating with an employee in section 102.” Others posted comments like “caught on the Jumbotron” and “Where is the head of HR,” adding fuel to the speculative fire.
While the truth remains unclear, the incident has certainly given new meaning to Coldplay’s hit song, “A Rush of Blood to the Head,” for the parties involved.
