Murder suspect makes first court appearance in south Bakersfield stabbing

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A man accused of killing a woman in south Bakersfield was arraigned Thursday on a charge of first-degree murder.

A plea of not guilty was entered on behalf of Derrick Tyrone Williams, who was ordered held without bail and is due back in court later this month.

Williams, 50, was arrested after Gabriela Flores Rodriguez, 54, died from stab wounds Tuesday afternoon in the front yard of a home in the 5800 block of Ream Way, police said. He was taken into custody without incident and a weapon was seized, police said…
