A Charleston tourist from Walhalla has sent back pictures of the cemetery that contains the burial site of Walhalla’s founder, John Andreas Wagener. Our thanks for the photos go to Hayden Laye, who took snapshots of the cemetery where Wagener was buried. Wagener was a mayor of Charleston in the 19th century. He led an expedition from the Port City that founded Walhalla in the middle part of the 19th century. Wagener died in Walhalla in 1876 at the age of 60 years old.
