Erie Co. Coroner’s Office identifies body found in Lake Erie

The Erie County Coroner’s Office identified a body pulled from Lake Erie Wednesday morning.

Crews from the Lake City Fire Company were called to the scene to retrieve the body after it was discovered by a group of people fishing five miles out from Avonia Beach.

First deputy coroner John Maloney confirmed the body as 49-year-old Richard Bofo of Pittsburgh.
