County Commissioners asking for independent study of Evansville’s shift in ambulance services

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — The Vanderburgh County Commissioners are addressing the Mayor of Evansville, asking that the City take another look at the transition of emergency medical services that was recently announced.

In May, the City of Evansville announced that it would be ending its contract with AMR and that the Evansville Fire Department would be taking over ambulance services, with a target start date of July 1, 2026.
