Body found in Fresno canal near elementary school

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A body was found in a canal Thursday morning in Fresno, the Fresno Police Department said.

On Thursday, officials received a call for service after 10:30 a.m. Police said that a community member was fishing on Temperance just south of McKinley Avenue when they spotted the body.

The area where the body was found was around 1,400 feet from Virginia R. Boris Elementary School.

Police said that the sheriff’s office is on scene to help with the recovery of the body. They also mention that the person was partially submerged in the canal…
