14-year-old Knox County girl turns love of baking into thriving business

KNOX COUNTY, Tenn — For one Heiskell teen, baking is as easy as pie. And now she’s started her own business at just 14 years old.

One year ago, Sarah Grace Nirmaier wasn’t a serious baker. She had only made her sister’s birthday cake until her mother needed 150 mini bundt cakes for her mother’s wedding reception last fall.

“It took two days,” Nirmaier said. “The first day I went in baked about half and then the day of the wedding, I baked some more and iced them.”…
