‘I’m not mad, I’m just going to get even’: Purple Heart medal stolen during Montgomery burglary

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – Gregory Brown’s father, Corporal James Brown, is an American hero. He earned a purple heart medal following World War II after being wounded during the Battle of the Bulge.

That medal, earned over 80 years ago, has stayed in the family ever since; until it was stolen a few weeks ago.

“Why? What good would that do you?” Brown questioned. “My uncle Robert had one too, and as far as I know it’s missing too, I haven’t found it. I think they’ve got both of them.”…
