Third teen charged with homicide after Dickerson Pike shooting, Metro police say

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — More than two weeks after a deadly shooting occurred in a Dickerson Pike parking lot, Nashville authorities announced a third and final teenager had been taken into custody in connection with the case.

The Metro Nashville Police Department said the shooting occurred at an apartment complex in the 3700 block of Dickerson Pike around 1:15 a.m. on June 30. Officers found 16-year-old Demario Anderson — who was wearing a ski mask — dead at the scene, with multiple cartridge casings in the area.

Around the same time, law enforcement said they responded to the Shell in the 3800 block of Dickerson Pike, where they discovered 19-year-old Janiyah Batey inside a wrecked Chevrolet Malibu with a .45 caliber gun on the floorboard. She was brought to TriStar Skyline Medical Center in extremely critical condition, but on July 2, officials announced Batey had died from her injuries.

Based on witness statements and evidence obtained at the scene, detectives believe Anderson, 16-year-old Martavious Luster, 16-year-old Adarian Graham, and 15-year-old Demondre Mayfield tried to rob Batey, but during a brief altercation, Batey and the others exchanged gunfire, according to authorities…
