Woman allegedly attacks man who accused her of taking $10 from him

A Leesburg woman was arrested for battery after allegedly attacking a man who accused her of taking $10 from him as he slept.

Dispatch received several 911 calls about a battery in progress in Leesburg around 8 a.m. Sunday, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department. The caller stated 37-year-old Cameron Jane Casey was actively battering a man.

Upon arrival at 300 N. Canal St., officers saw Casey and the male victim standing in front of a red passenger vehicle. They appeared to be disengaging from a physical altercation. Casey was subsequently detained in handcuffs, the report said.

The victim advised that when he woke up from sleeping behind the library, he checked his pockets and noticed he was missing two $5 bills. He saw Casey walking away from the area and approached her to ask about his missing money. She stated she did not have it and began walking toward the Mobile gas station, located at 225 E North Blvd., the report said…
