Ziggy worked with the SRCSO from 2017 to 2022 as a narcotics detection dog, assisting in the capture of more than 20 suspects in collaboration with the U.S. Marshal Fugitive Task Force.

According to the post, Paws of Honor, a charity that provides free medical care for retired law enforcement and military K9s, is covering all of Ziggy’s medical bills as he receives intensive cancer treatment.

“The Auburn University Veterinary Hospital staff is optimistic about the shrinking of both cancers. These treatment options will give Ziggy a comfortable quality of life, something priceless to his family,” a Facebook post from Paws of Honor said.
