(FOX 5/KUSI) — One of the first actions from the first American pope, Leo XIV, was to promote another history-making person to lead the San Diego Diocese’s Catholics.
On Thursday, a ceremonial mass at St. Thérèse of Carmel formally installed 58-year-old Michael Pham as the first Vietnamese American bishop to lead a diocese in the United States.
“It’s such an honor and great responsibility to give a good example to my heritage and as well as to people in the church,” Pham said outside the parish. “We’re such a diverse community here in the diocese.”…
