WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – From mapping food deserts to fighting farm loss, the 2025 Regional Food Summit at the Harrelson Center today brought together community leaders, nonprofits, and farmers for a full-day conversation on how to strengthen southeastern North Carolina’s food system.
Hosted by New Hanover County’s Office of Civic Engagement, the summit focused on the root causes of food insecurity and explored ways to close the gap in access to food.
