CORALVILLE, Iowa — Iowa Valley Habitat for Humanity has officially broken ground on its first-ever Women Build home in Coralville.
It’s the nonprofit’s first project in the city since 2018. This year’s build honors two longtime volunteers—Wai Yin Chan and Linda “Digger” Barrow—who have spent years supporting Habitat’s work both on and off construction sites.
The home will go to a Sudanese immigrant family of six. Habitat leaders say it will offer stability for the family’s children and help them build a future in Iowa…
