The city of Anna is getting ready for a major downtown transformation. The Anna Economic Development Corporation (EDC) finalized a deal with GTP Food Group, LLC to develop a $10 million restaurant and entertainment destination at the southwest corner of Highway 5 and Seventh Street.
A New Destination for Dining and Entertainment
The upcoming project is set to feature three well-known local restaurants:
- The Gin: Opening its second location, The Gin is beloved for its Southern-inspired dishes and cozy atmosphere.
- Papa Gallo’s Mexican Grill and Margarita Bar: This growing local favorite will bring authentic Mexican cuisine and craft margaritas to Anna with its second location.
- Tenders Smokehouse: Known for its slow-smoked meats, Tenders will establish its fifth location in the heart of Downtown Anna.
The development will also include a beer garden, live music stage and community patio space, all designed to encourage walkability and create a lively gathering place for residents and visitors alike.
Jobs and Growth on the Horizon
Construction is expected to start in early 2026, with restaurant openings anticipated in early 2027. The new additions are projected to bring more than 100 local jobs to the community, further fueling Anna’s rapid growth.
“This project will energize our downtown and set the stage for continued investment, opportunity, and momentum in the years ahead,” said city of Anna Mayor Pete Cain.

The announcement is a significant milestone in Anna’s 2050 Downtown Master Plan, a long-term strategy to transform the historic downtown into a vibrant destination. As the fifth fastest-growing city in the nation, Anna is making deliberate moves to blend growth with quality of life.
