Residents and visitors to Rockwall County should be aware that on Saturday, August 2, an emergency training exercise is scheduled to take place early in the morning. The Rockwall County Office of Emergency Management is set to conduct this full-scale emergency exercise at Pegasus Foods from 7 AM to approximately 10 AM, as reported by Rockwall County’s website.
This simulation will temporarily affect local traffic, particularly with road closures on parts of Innovation Drive and Observation Trail. A map of the closure area has been provided for the convenience of the community. Authorities have planned the event to ensure minimal impact on nearby businesses in the Technology Park area. The purpose of the exercise is to prepare for a scenario involving the release of hazardous chemicals. According to the county’s announcement, “You can expect to see police, fire, and emergency personnel on-site, some of whom will be wearing chemical protective gear.”
