Passing downpours linger for today

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – The swirl associated with the tropical disturbance we’ve been following is now over western Louisiana and on the way out of the area.

This disturbance will still have an influence on our weather today as a good coverage of rain is expected. Since we’re now in a quicker southerly flow, any downpour activity should not sit on one spot too long. Be prepared for some rain though and a flood watch remains up through tonight.

The weekend we revert back to normal summer with sunshine, heat and pop up storms. Overall the rain trend will be down as we lose a few storms in our coverage each day. Next week looks hot until late in the weekend when the old moisture plume associated with Invest 93L could make a return to the Gulf…
