Friend of man killed in Mechanicsburg shooting shares final phone call before his death

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — After a man was fatally shot at a Mechanicsburg home on July 13, a friend of the victim is now sharing his perspective on the deadly incident and how the loss of his friend has impacted him.

The Cumberland County Coroner identified the victim of the fatal shooting as Zachary Gula, 35, who was allegedly shot by suspect Richard King, Jr. at a home on the 400 block of Marble Street, according to charging documents.

King, Jr. was charged with one count of criminal homicide after admitting to police that he shot Gula, claiming that he had “been attacked” by him. Officers on scene located the victim in the front yard of the home with a trail of blood leading from the living room of the home…
