Kalamazoo County erases nearly $2.5M in medical debt for thousands of residents

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — More than 7,200 Kalamazoo County residents have had their medical debt relieved.

The Kalamazoo County Board of Commissioners invested $100,000 in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds to partner with Undue Medical Debt, a nonprofit that buys and forgives medical debt.
