State agency investigates PFAS in Comstock Township wells

COMSTOCK, Mich. — The Michigan PFAS Action Response Team (MPART) is investigating the detection of ‘forever chemicals’ in Comstock Township.

MPART sampled 77 wells across the area, with 46 revealing no detection of chemicals, 29 revealing levels below the criteria, and two revealing levels above the criteria.

“Our goal was to look at those drinking water wells, those residential private drinking water wells to understand whether or not they had detections of PFAS, they were exceedances if there was something there that was going to potentially be a public health hazard,” MPART Director Abigail Hendershott said…
