(Lancaster County, PA) — Multiple roads in Lancaster County were closed for hours yesterday after a truck spilled hundreds of rotten eggs onto the pavement. Officials said a truck hauling a trailer of 20-thousand rotten eggs spilled twice during its route from an industrial plant in Greenfield to a mulch facility in Peach Bottom. The first spill happened on the Route 30 exit ramp to East Walnut Street in East Lampeter Township, then a second larger spill happened at the intersection of Route 23 and Pleasure Road in Lancaster City. Authorities said the eggs were in an open trailer that collected rain from the recent storms, causing the eggs to float and fall out of the trailer as the truck was making a turn.
