Brittany Commisso settles with NY over Cuomo harassment complaint

ALBANY — Brittany Commisso, who accused Andrew M. Cuomo of groping her during a workplace encounter at the Executive Mansion nearly five years ago, has agreed to settle her claims of sexual harassment and retaliation for $450,000.

Commisso had filed her lawsuit under New York’s Adult Survivors Act in November 2023, nearly three years after she said Cuomo had groped her breast under her blouse during a Dec. 7, 2020, incident in his second-floor office at the governor’s mansion.

“The state’s settlement with Ms. Commisso, at nearly half a million dollars, is a complete vindication of her claims, just as the repeated findings made by the attorney general, the state Assembly and the U.S. Department of Justice were,” her attorneys said in a statement Friday. “Those three independent investigations all found that Cuomo subjected Ms. Commisso to unwanted sexual harassment and groping when she worked for him as an assistant…
