Teen accused of shooting man during attempted transaction in downtown Rochester

Rochester, N.Y. — Police have announced charges against a suspect in connection to a shooting last month in downtown Rochester.

Jaquan Monroe, 18, is accused of shooting a man who appeared to be in his 20s at the corner of St. Paul and Division streets during an attempted transaction June 26.

A Rochester police officer who was patrolling the downtown area heard at least one gunshot and found the victim, who was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment, according to authorities…
