TOLEDO, Ohio — Toledo City Council member Vanice Williams continued her summer-long tour of youth engagement events Thursday with a splash pad party at Savage Park, offering children a safe, fun environment to cool off while spotlighting city resources and support for young residents.
About half a dozen kids joined Williams at the Savage Park splash pad for one of several pool-themed events she’s been hosting this summer. The goal, she said, is to give young people a chance to feel seen and heard, all while enjoying the city’s public amenities.
“Enjoy this splash pad, enjoy our area pools,” Williams said. “Our area pools are a gem and we need them, and I’m encouraging everyone to get out to them.”…
