Bikes, Bears & Big Hearts: 10th Annual Teddy Bear Ride gears up for Sept. 21

ROCKWALL, TX (July 18, 2025) Motorcycle enthusiasts, community champions, and families from across Rockwall County and beyond—mark your calendars for Sunday, Sept. 21 as the 10th Annual Bikes for Tykes Teddy Bear Ride rolls out in support of the Children’s Advocacy Center for Rockwall County (CACRC).

Hosted by America’s Guardians Law Enforcement/Public Safety Motorcycle Club TX28A, this milestone event invites everyone —riders and non-riders alike—to join the fun at the Rockwall County Courthouse, 1111 E. Yellowjacket Lane.

Motorcyclists are encouraged to register for the fully police-escorted, scenic 27-mile ride, but you don’t have to ride to take part in this heartwarming cause. Families will enjoy a festival-style atmosphere featuring live music, vendor booths, and food trucks—including fan favorite Cousins Maine Lobster. The event also collects new teddy bears and stuffed animals to comfort children served by the CACRC.

In 2024, the Teddy Bear Ride drew over 400 motorcycles, collected 750 stuffed animals, and raised more than $90,000—all staying in Rockwall County to support children affected by physical and sexual abuse. Thanks to this community’s support, the CACRC provided services to 607 children and families, completed 233 forensic interviews, delivered 1,748 counseling sessions, and reached over 7,000 students through prevention education last year alone.

“We are truly grateful for the unwavering support of America’s Guardians and all who participate in this event,” said Patricia Mejia, President & CEO of the CACRC. “Your commitment has a profound impact on the children and families we serve.”

Helping lead this year’s ride is a man who defines service and community spirit: Ken “Blackie” Blackington, named Grand Marshal of the 2025 Teddy Bear Ride…
