Ozark Booster Club Pro Rodeo celebrates 70th year

OZARK, Mo. — The 70th annual Ozark Booster Club Pro Rodeo is scheduled for Friday night. The rodeo is expecting around 250 cowboys and cowgirls and over 4,000 people to come and watch them compete.

Competitors will be vying for championship points and $40,000 in prize money. The points earned tonight will go into deciding the top 15 competitors in each category nationwide, who will then have a chance to compete in the International Finals Rodeo.

Rodeo Announcer Monty Stueve says the proceeds from the rodeo go back into the community.

“Rick Chain is the president of the Ozarks Booster Club,” Stueve said. “He knows what it takes to put on a good for an atmospheric rodeo, but then take the funds and put it back into the community.”
