NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – The National Weather Service (NWS) Albuquerque has issued a flood watch for parts of central New Mexico, including the South Central Mountains. The flood watch is in effect through 6 p.m. Friday night.
More storms form with muggy and breezy weather
Thunderstorms are expected to continue to increase in coverage and intensity in the Ruidoso area through early and mid afternoon. According to NWS, storms are already developing in the Ruidoso area. Storms are mainly impacting Blue 2 Scar. Residents are asked to stay alert and be aware of potential flash floods.
NWS Albuquerque warns flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. Excessive runoff could lead to flooding rivers, creeks, streams and other low-lying or flood-prone areas.
