EUGENE, Ore. — The Eugene 4J School District has a formal framework in place for reporting and addressing bullying, but one local parent says the process failed to protect his child, even after multiple reports and formal appeals.
The parent, who asked to remain anonymous to protect his child’s privacy, says the bullying began with verbal harassment and escalated into physical threats.
“The first step, like when a kid is experiencing bullying, is to immediately contact the principal,” he said. “We waited for results and didn’t see any results. That was another mistake we made… we contacted the principal and in good faith figured that the principal would resolve the issues.”…
