Police chase ends in crash, charges for Anchorage man

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – a 31-year-old Anchorage man is facing multiple charges after allegedly leading Alaska State Troopers and Palmer Police on a pursuit Friday evening that ended in a crash and serious injuries to passengers.

Troopers say Darren David was seen driving recklessly on the Palmer-Wasilla Highway, swerving between lanes and appearing impaired. Law enforcement deemed the vehicle a threat to public safety. Officers attempted a traffic stop near CARRS in Palmer. The vehicle fled, prompting a pursuit.

Officers deployed spike strips and successfully deflated most of the car’s tires, but according to Troopers, David continued to flee, striking multiple vehicles before crashing in the Muldoon area. A passenger in the vehicle sustained serious injuries…
