Officials urge safety ahead of scorching beach weekend

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – With triple-digit temperatures in the forecast this weekend, Lowcountry officials are urging beachgoers to take precautions to stay safe in the extreme heat and in the water.

Storm Team 2 meteorologists said the heat index could reach up to 110 degrees at times across the Lowcountry raising serious concerns for heat-related illnesses.
