Charleston, S.C. (WCBD) – Coast Guard Sector Charleston welcomed a new commander Friday morning during a time-honored military tradition.
A ceremonial shift in leadership, as a new captain was welcomed to command the South Carolina coast, at the U.S. Sector Charleston Change of Command ceremony. This tradition celebrated and reflected on the dedication of men and women serving their nation proudly.
Commander Chris Nichols USCG, opened the ceremony, “The change of command is a revered military tradition, which formally restates the continuity and authority of command. It is a formal custom, conducted before the assembled crew, and it confirms to the men and women of the unit, that the authority of command is maintained.”…
