Who’s Most at Risk During Extreme Heat?
Look, I am no stranger to the Midwest heat and humidity, but as I have gotten older, I have become more aware of how dangerous high heat and humidity can be. It can be especially difficult for those who take certain types of medications that can make them more susceptible to heat-related illnesses. Extreme heat can be challenging for the elderly and those with certain health concerns.
That’s why when I saw the warning today from the National Weather Service out of Paducah, Kentucky, I paid attention. I also made a mental note to come back and share the info with you here, because after all, we’ve got to look out for one another.
In a post to Facebook, the National Weather Service shared an infographic detailing what we can expect from the temperatures this weekend and into next week across Southern Indiana and Western Kentucky. It’s going to be hot, and that old adage about “it’s not the heat. It’s the humidity” is going to be in full play…
